Information and Communication technologies are ever growing at a fastpace, and we have to keep-up with them. In this small write-up, we are going to talk about the various emerging trends.

Emerging ICT Technological Trends.
•5G Technology is the next generation of cellular networks and services. It is expected to provide at least 20 GBPS downlink and 10 GBPS uplink, which will make the 5G network to be at least 40 times faster than current 4G LTE. This will open doors for new services, network operations and customer experience for telecom operators.

•Explainable AI (XAI) is artificial intelligence (AI) in which the results of the solution can be understood by humans. XAI algorithms are considered to follow the three principles of transparency, interpretability and explain ability. Examples include machine translation using recurrent neural networks and image classification using a convolutional neural network.

•Virtual Reality replaces our vision, and Augmented Reality adds to it. While VR completely covers and replaces our field of vision, AR apps only show-up on our smartphone or tablet screen, and even the HoloLens can only project images in a limited area in front of our eyes.

Cloud Computing is a process of delivering/enabling scalable, expandable and almost perfectly elastic software services using internet technologies. It is a method of delivering data storage, servers, databases, networking & software as a Service (IaaS, SaaS, NaaS, DBaaS), delivered in a pay-per-use basis.

Contact less payments is yet another payment method which we'll see growing rapidly in the coming years. Contact less payments are possible with the NFC (near-field communication) technology. As technology advances, improved tokenization and biometric authorization methods are expected to replace them. These include pulse and voice recognition, finger vein scanners and keystroke detection.

Hyper automation is the application of advanced technologies like RPA, AI, ML and Process Mining to augment workers and automate processes in ways that are significantly more impactful that traditional automation capabilities.

An unmanned aerial vehicle or uncrewed aerial vehicle, commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without any human pilot, crew or passengers on board.

•Cyber security is the application of technologies, processes and controls to protect systems, networks, programs, devices and data from cyber attacks. It aims to reduce the risk of cyber attacks and protect against the unauthorized exploitation of systems, networks and technologies. (threats like malware spyware, ransomware, virus & worms, phishing, SQL injection, and password attacks).

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of interrelated, internet connected objects that are

able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. The personal or business possibilities are endless. Example of connections of devices using IoT are thermostats, cars, lights, refrigerators, and more appliances.

The Internet of Behavior collects the digital dust of people's lives from a variety of sources, and public or private organizations can use this information to influence behavior. Let's look at the web platform example when a user interacts with it from a laptop, and another time from his smartphone. The value of IoB and its ethical use are through Big Data, where information can be accessed from multiple points of contact. This makes it possible to explore the CX (customer experience) from start to finish, to know where the customer’s interest in a product begins, their journey to purchase and the methodology used to make the purchase.

Robotics is the intersection/interdisciplinary of science, engineering and technology that produces machines called robots that substitute for(or replicate) human actions or can help/assist humans. Robots are widely used in industries such as automobile manufacture to perform simple repetitive tasks, and in industries where work must be performed in environments hazardous to humans

Blockchain collects information together in groups, also known as blocks, that hold sets of information. It is nothing but a database, collects data in blocks. It differs from a typical database in the way it stores information; blockchains store data in blocks that are then chained together. As new data comesin it is entered into a fresh block. Blockchain is a better, safer way to record activity and keep data fresh, while maintaining a record of its history.

Data science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured & unstructured data, and apply knowledge & actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains.

Analytics is the systematic computational analysis of data or statistics. It is used for the discovery, interpretation, and communication of meaningful patterns in data. It also entails applying data patterns towards effective decision-making. It is concerned with turning raw data into insight for making better decisions.

Green hydrogen is pure hydrogen produced using renewable energy sources such as wind or solar power. Green Hydrogen fuel is not toxic and is created using renewable energy instead of fossil fuels. It has the potential to provide clean power for manufacturing transportation, and more, and its only by product is water.

3D printing or additive manufacturing, is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model from a physical design. 3D Printing can be useful in Prosthetic Limbs & Body Parts of Healthcare, Custom Prosthetics for Marathon Runner, Homes & Buildings, Firearms & Military, Manufacturing, and Musical Instruments.
