From 8th June, India begin to unlock its economy for opening robust economic activities. According to data set of Google, going out for daily essentials including groceries and pharmacies has been like the pre-covid days.

Every other economic activity is starting to gain momentum like the days before lockdown.

Google tells according to Covid-19 Community Mobility report, the platforms where most activities are taking place include retail and recreation, grocery and pharmacy, transport hubs, parks, workplaces, and residential areas. And these are the areas where general activities have started

since June 1.

Apart from residential areas, transport, business, sports, etc. came to halt as India began the required lockdown from March 25.

As per to reports, June 5 saw traffic congestions, power generation, port activity, vehicle registration and some other economic activities. This stated India has been recovering from the pandemic.

Google data says that stepping outside for emergency needs like groceries and pharmacies adds heft to the finance ministry’s view that ‘green shoots’ of revival have started with general opening of the economy. The most important economic parameters like fuel, electricity, mobility and retail financial transactions have marked its comeback.

The petroleum consumption which hit record low since 2006 is being recovered with road construction and transport gearing up.

However, the states which were hit badly of coronavirus like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi are witnessing lower activities in grocery and pharmacy than other states and national average. Delhi has down in activities by 26 percent and Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu by 25 percent and 22 percent respectively. In Bihar, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh the activities have paced up the pre-covid days.

Retail and recreation, transport hubs, parks, and workplaces are still under concerned thoughts. It is at this time when the manufacturing activities are stabilized from lowest days and indirect tax collections are rising.
