According to reports, Nvidia is planning to produce its artificial intelligence super computers in the United States for the first time.

The tech giant says it has commissioned more than one million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test its specialized Blackwell chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas - part of an investment the company said will produce up to half a trillion dollars of AI infrastructure in the next four years.

Nvidia founder Jensen Huang says, "The engines of the world's AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time. Adding American manufacturing helps us better meet the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and boosts our resiliency."

Nvidia's announcement arrives as the Trump administration states that tariff exemptions for electronics such as smartphones and laptops are just a short-term relief until officials formulate a new tariff strategy focused on the semiconductor sector.

White House representatives, including President Donald Trump, took Sunday to minimize the importance of exemptions that reduce but do not entirely eliminate the impact of U.S. tariffs on the imports of popular consumer electronics and their essential components.

Nvidia announced on its website that it has begun Blackwell production at chip facilities of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. in Phoenix. The chip company located in Santa Clara, California, is constructing supercomputer manufacturing facilities in Texas - partnering with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas.

The firm intends to collaborate with Taiwan-based SPIL and Amkor for packaging and testing operations in Arizona

Nvidia's AI supercomputers will function as the driving forces behind AI factories, a novel kind of data center designed specifically for processing artificial intelligence, the company stated, noting that production in the U.S. will generate hundreds of thousands of jobs and bolster trillions of dollars in economic stability in the years ahead.

Nvidia stated that mass production at both facilities is anticipated to increase in the upcoming 12-15 months. The firm intends to collaborate with Taiwan-based SPIL and Amkor for packaging and testing operations in Arizona.
