Technologies That Shape Edtech

CIOInsider Team

The advancements in the technology landscape have carried its ripples of transformation in the education sector. In the contemporary era, technology is becoming an integral part right from the schools to their every day routine. Gone are the days when teachers used blackboards to lecture and solve mathematical problems. Now students are given exposure to technology right from lower classes, introducing them to smart classes, online learning programs, and many others.

Since there goes much in delivering quality in education, it becomes a necessity for educational institutes to equip themselves with resilient IT infrastructures. Meanwhile, the question is whether such sounding developments really matters while coming to raising the teacher and student confidence in using advanced technology. Tech devices started becoming an integral part replacing

books with ebooks and tablets. Though this kind of advancements are still in its infancy in India, much developments centred on it have started peeking into our educational culture.

While observing the exigency in getting the best out of education, there are certain technological developments that pave way for the same. Desktop virtualization, to begin with, is one of the primary aspects in building the base for a smart class ecosystem. While computers have become as much important as textbooks, the need for virtual machines has become necessary. To support and manage a range of applications in the remote ecosystem, a way for standardization of endpoints need to be found. Therefore, integrating a single comprehensive solution for your endpoint security and optimization could bring the benefits of virtualization.

Another major important technology is Cloud-computing. It has a major role in making learning sources available for the students to assist them in their curriculums. Cloud based learning could elevate the current structure of education to a whole new level of advanced learning experience. With regard to the emerging technologies, Artificial intelligence has brought in a higher level of self learning. AI is expected to eliminate the barriers in boundaries and limitations, and thereby equipping students with IT skills. It also helps in tracking the personalized assessment of students. The assessment tools usually deals with evaluating the practical application knowledge of students rather than theory.

At the same time, IT manageability becomes an uphill battle for education professionals amidst managing the class since it can become complex and time consuming over time. While education technology projects major growth spurt, keeping abreast with such technologies may not be such a burden when more and more machines get integrated with the organization. We can bid hope that this decade will be more meaningful in edtech when it becomes easier to learn the technology part too.
