CIMware Raises $ 2.3 Million in Funding Round

CIMware, a data centre infrastructure startup, has raised $2.3 million in its maiden institutional funding round led by Transition VC.
“The money will be allocated to develop a commercially viable networking smart switch (hardware manufacturing), to recruit a software team, and to manage operating costs,” stated CIMware founder and CEO Rajiv Ganth.
The suggested smart switch will enhance a data centre's “capacity and capability by four to eight times, employing our memory-based connection technology.”
Founded in 2022, CIMware, located in Bengaluru, is developing a composable infrastructure switch that integrates compute, storage, and networking at the rack level. It targets data centers utilized by cloud services, video-streaming platforms, social networks, and comparable infrastructures.

“We are essentially developing a new type of technology that enables all the server CPUs to connect,” Ganth remarked. “We bring them together through memory…which serves as the fundamental component for any computing engine,” he clarified. He mentioned that the product is anticipated to be launched in a data centre in the upcoming nine months.
“We will start by producing a maximum of 80 to 100 units of CIMs (composable infrastructure modules), and subsequently, depending on demand, we will create thousands of switches,” he mentioned.

CIMware will emphasize direct sales in the United States and India. It is actively recruiting partners and distributors in the US and Europe, with plans to enhance its presence in AI-centric data centers, telecommunications networks, and enterprise cloud infrastructures within the next two years.
