Google declared a grant of Rs.85 crore to Wadhwani AI. This funding, offered by Google.org, the philanthropic division of Google, focuses on updating India’s public education system by incorporating "India-first" AI tools into government-operated platforms.

This investment is motivated by studies indicating that 74 percent of Indians think AI will enhance student performance.

The project is a crucial element of Google's larger effort to make responsible AI education accessible, aiming to engage 75 million students and 1.8 million teachers nationwide by December 2027.

The funding will particularly aid the incorporation of sophisticated AI functions into current public infrastructure, including the SWAYAM online learning platform and the POSHAN Tracker, which oversees health and nutrition. Instead of developing independent systems, this partnership aims to enhance the platforms that millions of Indian citizens utilize every day.
