Cloud Computing and cloud storage has garnered a lot of talks in recent years’, as almost everything in the digital world is connected to the cloud in some way or another. In simple terms cloud computing is the practice of using a storage server connected or hosted through the internet, to store, manage or process data. Big enterprises and start-ups always find newer ways to organize, represent and process data, so that cloud computing can become more and more essential in the operations of their businesses. Therefore, the question that crops up is: What impact will cloud computing have on the future of business strategies? To start with – cloud computing enables the entire team in a workplace to interact and share information with each other regardless from where they are in the world. Cloud computing enables businesses to outsource their computing power instead of investing in software’s and staffs to maintain.

According to Matt Riley, CEO and Co-founder of Swiftype – A cloud based search platform: “A decade from now, every business will be operating primarily from the cloud, making way for more flexible — yet more productive and efficient — ways of working. Hardware won’t be the problem in a decade — software will”.

It is because cloud services solve a specific set of

problems for specific departments, that the use of large monolithic app has become a thing of the past. It is safe to say that in the future, only those companies will be able to thrive that will be able to master cloud computing at the behest. The next innovations in computing would be in the fields of quantum computing, artificial intelligence and neural integration of machines and human beings. These innovations will make high capacity storage a necessary functionality - to which only cloud computing has the answers.

Technology has no doubt revolutionized this era, but who would have thought that we would be moving all the way up to the clouds. The statement is not entirely erroneous as with the advent of new technology, many companies have ventured into the cloud domain. It is a necessary adaptation. Agility, flexibility, scalability are some of the chief reasons as to why businesses are shifting towards the cloud. Cloud applications have reformed the ways in which businesses organizations performs. The right cloud solution helps in increasing storage capacity and performance. Moreover, it also reduces costs and enhances data security. In recent years, new cloud computing companies such as DigitalOcean, Vultr and Linode have sprung up, giving stiff competition to traditional cloud computing giants such as AWS ( Amazon Web Services) , Google Docs and Microsoft Azure. Some of the ways in which cloud computing has enabled businesses to scale new heights has been enlisted below:
• Provides independence to devices and locations.
• Offline accessibility of data protected by storage management system.
• Offers scalability, sustainability, and reliability to business operations.
• Reduces the cost of ownership
• Use automation tools for hybrid cloud management.
• Provides speedy and efficient recovery of data during disasters.

The significance of cloud computing is quite manifold in our daily lives from experiencing modern day socializing innovation methods to bank account data management, it is taking over conventional ways of data storage. As cloud computing has become the cornerstone for all contemporary business organizations, the future of cloud computing looks very bright indeed. Marcus Vlahovic, CEO and Co-founder of Sustainabody perfectly summed up the future of cloud computing in his statement:
“Cloud computing is bridging us to a world of unlimited connectivity. In 10-15 years people won’t be talking about routers and individual networks, everything will be the network.”
