It is evident that the biggest challenges in accelerating digital transformation and mission-critical projects include resistance to change, lack of agility, and inefficient workflows. So to mitigate this, automating tasks, optimizing resource allocation, and providing real-time insights have become imperative for businesses today. Furthermore, this chance can really help enhance not only better collaboration, but streamlines decision-making, and improves efficiency across teams.
Transforming how teams collaborate and manage work, Nimblework has devised a proven AI-powered work and project management, named Nimble. Initially catering to IT and IT services organizations, Nimblework's focus has now expanded to business teams and SMEs. Adding to this, the company’s solutions have been deployed by large enterprises such as Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant. Nimblework’s products are designed for diverse teams, including marketing, operations, sales, finance, or creative teams like editorial staff. These tools help them prioritize tasks, collaborate seamlessly, and deliver results more efficiently.
With hybrid work environments gaining traction, where people work from home, the office, or remote locations, Nimblework solutions can steer collaborative experience that bridges those gaps. Furthermore, Nimblework integrates AI features withlean and agile methodologies, making it easy for teams to manage their workflows while staying connected and productive. The company’s mission has been clear, which is to humanize work by empowering teams to thrive. This would be achieved by fostering a collaborative culture where individuals can reach out for support, focus on high-value tasks, and deliver meaningful results.
In an exclusive interaction with CIO Insider India, A. V. Sridhar, Co-Founder, President & CEO, Nimblework walks us through the Nimblework flagship products’ portfolio, the pressing
challenges it has been helping clients mitigate, along with the journey and future roadmap.
Could you tell us about the journey of Nimblework from inception to its current position in the market?
Nimblework began as Digite in 2002, but our journey truly started in 2000 when we raised VC funding to build a platform for remote team collaboration. The founders, with backgrounds in distributed software development at companies like HCL, Wipro, and Infosys, aimed to make work and project management more efficient for global teams. The dot-com bust in 2001 led to a brief shutdown, but with renewed support from Dr Suhas Patil, Chairman at Nimblework, and growing U.S. customer traction, we relaunched in 2002 as a self-funded, profitable company.
While India remains a key market, we’ve built a strong global presence across North America, Europe, and South America. Over the years, we’ve expanded into hybrid agile project management and product development solutions. In 2022, we rebranded as Nimblework to reflect our mission of helping companies become truly nimble by making them ready to adapt and thrive in competitive markets. Today, we are a leader in IT services in India, with Swiftkanban recognized globally as a top Kanban tool for agile teams.
Nimblework bridges the gap between strategy and execution by aligning objectives with daily activities through OKRs and portfolio management
Could you tell us more in detail about the pain points you solve for customers when it comes to project management?
If we speak of a few examples on how we hand-hold our clients, here are two key examples of how we’ve helped customers overcome significant challenges. First, Magazine Luiza, Brazil’s second-largest retailer, had to pivot from a store-centric model to e-Commerce in 2020. Using Swift Kanban, which is our portfolio management tool, they swiftly reoriented projects, enabling teams to collaborate effectively. Within six months, they transitioned online, training franchise partners and becoming Brazil’s "Amazon". This transition offered by us became crucial to their digital transformation.
Second, Infosys, one of our earliest customers, faced challenges with large-scale project management. Setting up a project-assigning resources, defining plans took 6–8 weeks. With our Nimble Enterprise solution (formerly Swift Enterprise), they automated the process, reducing setup time to six days. Project managers, who initially handled one or two projects, could now manage up to four, doubling productivity. Our solutions enhanced planning, execution, and efficiency, driving measurable success.
How is the team built and how would you describe the expertise they showcase when deploying solutions to clients?
Our team combines technical expertise with business insight, enabling us to address the complexities of distributed and hybrid work environments. With experienced leadership and a deep understanding of industry challenges, we offer tailored solutions that solve real client pain points.
Our strength lies in merging advanced technology with practical business solutions. We’ve invested in AI and cloud technologies to help clients make data-driven decisions and optimize project management. Continuous modernization keeps our solutions aligned with evolving client needs, supported by a dedicated services team for seamless implementation.
In addition, innovation is at our core, wherein, we encourage ideas from all teams and maintain an open, decentralized structure that empowers quick decision making. Moreover, collaboration with customers ensures our solutions address real-world challenges and remain future-ready. This blend of technical excellence, market knowledge, and innovation helps clients stay ahead in a rapidly evolving world.
