PingSafe, a cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) that assists clients in addressing cloud security concerns, has emerged from stealth mode with a $3.3 million early funding round led by Surge.

Peak XV Partners' startup accelerator program, Surge, was previously known as Sequoia Capital India & Southeast Asia.

Tanglin Ventures and angel investors - PhonePe founder Rahul Chari, former WhatsApp chief business officer Neeraj Arora, Recko founder Saurya Prakash, SquareX founder Vivek Ramachandran, and Tata 1mg founder Gaurav Agarwal - also participated in the round.

The newly raised funds will be used to improve the startup's cloud security solution and product innovation, as well as to expand its worldwide business development activities in India and the United States.

PingSafe supports customers from all across the world and in a variety of industries, including Flipkart, Razorpay, Near Intelligence, Ujjivan Bank, Skyflow, SBI General Insurance, and Recko.

At PingSafe, we incorporate this unique perspective into our CNAPP platform by adding capabilities like the Offensive Security Engine (OSE) that identify the most critical vulnerabilities and provide proof of exploitability, reducing the overhead of security teams,” founder and CEO Prakash explained.

Anand Prakash, an ethical security hacker who has previously discovered vulnerabilities in firms such as Uber, Meta, and Twitter, and Nishant Mittal started the company in 2022. Its headquarters are in San Francisco and Bengalore.

Clients of the San Francisco and Bengaluru-based startup include Flipkart, Razorpay, Near Intelligence Inc., Ujjivan Bank, Skyflow, SBI General Insurance, Recko (a Stripe Company), and others.

PingSafe's OSE enables enterprises to quickly and effectively address critical and exploitable vulnerabilities. The company assists with the security of cloud environments across many hyperscalers, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure.

“Having discovered thousands of critical vulnerabilities in leading companies, we understand the mindset of hackers.
