Sundar Pichai Sees Reliance's JioPhone Next Crucial to Impacting Millions in Using Smartphones

According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance JioPhone Next will have a significant impact in connecting and assisting millions in using smartphones to their benefits. Jio is preparing to drop its budget friendly handset during the festive season.
JioPhone Next, a 4G phone jointly developed by Reliance Jio and Google is most likely to hit the market this festive season. On that account, Mr.Pichai expresses his delight towards the development of the phone as it will communicate beyond the English language, drawing in more users into opting for this phone. Meaning, the new smartphone is designed to boost the number of individuals in rural areas and across the country who have access to the internet. The phone is designed to provide the user with a wide choice of Indian regional languages. The user's preferred language can also be translated into the font on the screen.
Specifically designed for the people, this phone will be assembled at the Reliance Jio Neolync facility in Tirupati and Sriperumbudur and is expected to cost about Rs.3,499.
While smartphone manufacturers across the world are developing 5G-based devices, Reliance Jio opted for the 4G route, creating a phone with capabilities that fall in between Android and Playstore.
JioPhone Next comes with ground-breaking premium features including language and translation tools, a superb camera, and support for the most recent Android and security updates. All of these features are unheard of in such a low-cost smartphone.
"We are designing a phone that goes beyond just English, and getting languages, and getting local needs right for people, and doing it in a way that many more people can benefit from a smartphone", adds Mr.Pichai
"People are searching for access, and there has been a surge in the adoption of cellphones. As a result, we're seeing an increase in the number of individuals eager to upgrade from feature phones to smartphones”
Mr.Pichai announced plans to invest $10 billion in India over the next five to seven years as part of the India Digitization Fund in July of last year, with a focus on areas critical to India's digitization aspirations. This comprises Jio Platforms and startups like VerSe Innovation, the parent company of Dailyhunt, and InMobi's mobile content platform Glance.
The JioPhone Next, according to Mr.Pichai, is considered as a basis for India's digital revolution. This localized, feature-rich smartphone with an aggressive price tag and the phone will have a significant impact over the next three to five years.
"People who want to upgrade from feature phones to smartphones are in high demand. We are designing a phone that goes beyond just English, and getting languages, and getting local needs right for people, and doing it in a way that many more people can benefit from a smartphone. India, like Asia Pacific, remains an exciting market for us. Strength may be found in all of the categories in which we participate. As a result, you'll see us continuing to concentrate on it”, adds Mr.Pichai.
