Be it flying an airplane, managing a fleet or running the entire operations of an airport, Information Technology has become an integral part of aviation. Today, with the advantage of futuristic technologies like Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Big Data analytics, IT goes beyond being an enabler to become a crucial aspect of decision making and the operations management in aviation. Bringing the complete advantage of new-age tech to the aviation industry is Lenok Solutions, which offers a spectrum of software solutions to automate the key areas of the aviation industry, especially airports. As a newcomer to the industry, Lenok is blessed to have the opportunity to cater all the newly invented strength of IT. What is the unique proposition that Lenok Solutions brings to the table? What are some of the latest challenges that you solve for your clients?
Accounting to the prevailing traditional, complex and cluttered operational systems in the aviation industry, User Experience often takes the back seat. For many legacy systems, user training itself is a huge task for the organization. Lenok’s vision is to provide user friendly systems ensuring simple user journeys. We have infused our systems with the latest findings of User Experience studies, making it match the experience offered by novel websites.
Secondly, we understand the data is the power of new age. We have incorporated attractive dashboards and perform detailed analytics on operational data to help our customers in decision making and with operational requirements. Even during Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to provide our
clients with instrumental assistance by leveraging the complete advantage of futuristic technologies like IoT and ML. IoT devices attached to the airport equipment reduced human readings in many places and the data became available automatically. Mobility solutions and cloud connectivity have also played a big role for staff working remotely, keeping a safe distance.

Our systems are running in more than 15 airports across the continents and five more airports will be added to the list by the end of this year. We are one of the fortunate companies who could avail new sales orders despite the severe Covid-19 attack to the industry!
One of the commendable customer references would be our Airport Management System implementation in the Nouakchott International Airport (NKC) in the capital city of Mauritania. The automation in the NKC airport was minimal and most of the areas were running in manual fashion. The mission Lenok took over was to automate most of the operational areas of NKC airport.
All the systems for NKC airport are provided in a cloud environment. We have provided the customized version of Microsoft D365 for their corporate planning and operations. The plan is to enable them to completely manage airport affairs in a cloud environment through a highly integrated way. The project is progressing well and successfully aligned with the specified objectives. The NKC implementation poses a unique, more reliable model and our next five implementations in line are from the same package.

What are the opportunities that you foresee in the aviation industry postcovid-19 era?
The aviation industry was riding along an exceptional growth curve during the pre-covid-19 era. Of course, Covid has caused frozenness and there will be a slowness in the next few months as well. We expect the economy will not be stagnant for long and the industry will return to its pace and regain the momentum of the growth.
We envision a big room of opportunities across most of the low and medium sized airports around the world. Automation will bring huge changes to their operations and profitability. Moreover, in the post-covid era, automation will become a mandate and more than an option in many functional areas of aviation. We foresee this as a good sign of growth opportunities ahead.
What’s Lenok’s future roadmap?
For the post-covid era, Lenok is set to meet the industry requirements by (1) incorporating all health measurement requirements in our airport systems, (2) enabling our systems to cater to the touchless and remote working environment requirements, and (3) offering vivid pricing policies to airlines/ airport operators facing low budget scenarios. Pricing will play a key role in the aviation software industry during the post Covid era. Lenok has designed attractive Capex/Opex/Rental models to meet all sorts of the customer requirements irrespective of their size and operational regions.
