In an exclusive conversation with CIO Insider, Mahesh Anchan, the esteemed MD & CEO of Spinebiz Services, sheds light on the company's distinctive attributes and provides valuable insights into its operations and offerings.

Could you give a brief account of Spinebiz Services' journey so far?
We commenced our journey as a captive business for one of the largest visa outsourcing companies about seven years ago. However, recognizing the potential for growth and diversification, we expanded beyond our initial focus and ventured into other domains and geographies. Two years ago, we made a strategic decision to transform into a sales-based organization. Subsequently, we concentrated on developing expertise in key verticals such as healthcare,

finance, insurance, banking, traditional e-commerce, and web-based businesses.

Over time, we have expanded our client base and established a global presence in prominent locations such as India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. Presently, we are in the midst of a transition from being a conventional technology application development company to assuming the role of an IT transformation partner for organizations across diverse industrial verticals.

Tell us about your flagship solutions and the technology framework embedded in them.
Our primary solutions revolve around the outsourcing domain, with a strong emphasis on finance, banking, and the insurance sector. On the technology front, we work on four pillars namely application development, infrastructure, consulting, and business outsourcing.

To begin with, we work with a company from a consulting background. This approach allows us to leverage our specific domain expertise in sectors such as banking, insurance, healthcare, and others. The second pillar, known as digital transformation, places a greater focus on outsourcing, particularly in the realm of application development. The third component encompasses the infrastructure of the managed services industry. Depending on the organization's size, structure, and volume, we employ various models, including cloud, on-premises, transactional page, and others. And the final section is where we begin to touch on the efficiency aspect of it. Our comprehensive outsourcing model integrates technological advancements, skilled personnel, and an outsourcing back-office approach to create process efficiencies that drive organizational effectiveness.

How is the team built and what are the

methods they follow to draw valuable insights from the market to help the company stay afloat among its peers?
We have taken a combination of expertise and some fresh blood. The majority of the team structure is vertically driven, laying their expertise in visa outsourcing, banking, insurance, technology, and other areas. In terms of team structure, we have dedicated units for delivery, project management, and quality management. These teams work in synergy to ensure seamless execution and high quality outcomes for our clients. Additionally, our business development efforts span the global landscape, collaborating closely with domain and industry experts who are direct employees of our organization. Moreover, we foster collaborations with select consultants from around the world to augment our capabilities further.

Currently, our global workforce consists of approximately 200 to 250 employees. However, when considering the broader perspective of our entire group, the number surpasses 3000. This extensive network of professionals enables us to provide comprehensive solutions and meet the diverse needs of our clients on a global scale.

What is the future roadmap envisioned for Spinebiz Services? Where is it headed for the next five years?
Over the next five years, our organization envisions a substantial growth trajectory, aiming to increase our turnover tenfold compared to our current standing. In the immediate two-year timeframe, we will concentrate our market focus on Saudi Arabia, UAE and the United States (US), with a specific emphasis on IT transformation. We have already embarked on a promising journey in the UK this year.

As aforementioned, our strategic roadmap for the next three years revolves around actively participating in IT transformations. As a company, we primarily operate as a 70 percent system integration services provider, with the remaining 30 percent dedicated to the development of proprietary products. In line with this, we have already initiated plans to introduce an insurance product in the forthcoming quarters. Additionally, in the following year, we intend to release two more products with a specific focus on queue management, leveraging our expertise in this domain. This strategic positioning precisely reflects our intended direction and objectives.
