Kapiva Launches Rs.50 Crore Innovation Fund

D2C wellness company Kapiva has introduced the Rs.50-crore Kapiva Innovation Fund (KIF). The fund will be invested in 15-30 startups over a period of four years, with additional investments in certain cases, stated Ameve Sharma, Founder of Kapiva.

“We anticipate this will take approximately three to four years for deployment. The funnel is expected to grow larger, likely within the next year or two. We will probably make around 20 to 30 investments, varying from Rs.50 lakh to Rs.2 crore. However, the true commitment will occur following that,” Sharma stated.

KIF will support initiatives in academia, laboratories, and startups that concentrate on research and development in Ayurvedic science and develop clinically validated solutions for actual health challenges.

Starting cheque amounts will vary between Rs.50 lakh and Rs.1 crore, with Kapiva willing to invest more in promising opportunities.

For Ayurveda to be regarded alongside modern medicine, it must undergo evaluation with equivalent rigor

Sharma stated, “This fund represents a long-term investment in that future. Kapiva aims to create an environment where Ayurvedic products are developed and tested akin to modern medicine by investing as much as Rs.50 crore in research, partnerships, and innovative technologies."

Through the Kapiva Innovation Fund, we aim to create a platform for researchers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs, share our resources, and guide high-quality initiatives, enabling strong Ayurvedic science to transition from theory to products and benefit millions."
