Google Acquires Cloud Security Startup Wiz
Google has completed the purchase of Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz for a sum of $32 billion in cash, one year after the initial agreement between the two entities was made public
This transaction stands as the largest acquisition ever undertaken by Google.
Wiz offers a security solution aimed at safeguarding prominent cloud infrastructures from cybersecurity risks through proactive prevention and response measures.
Upon integration with Google Cloud, the company will sustain its distinct brand identity and dedication to ensuring the security of clients operating in diverse cloud environments.
Amongst the rising trend of large organizations operating on various cloud platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud, Google's strategic collaboration with Wiz signifies a calculated effort to attract a greater number of enterprise clients through a comprehensive multi-cloud security solution.
The collaboration between the two companies aims to develop a comprehensive security platform to assist organizations in responding quickly to threats, which is crucial due to the growing prevalence of vibe coding leading to security vulnerabilities and prompt-based attacks.
“The finalization of Google’s acquisition of Wiz, roughly a year after it was first announced, sends a powerful signal about the strength and credibility of Israel’s technology ecosystem,” said Israel Innovation Authority CEO Dror Bin. “In a period when Israel has been facing complex security challenges, the completion of a deal of this scale reflects deep global confidence in the talent, resilience, and innovation that define Israeli tech.
