A Paradigm Shift in Application Development

Coding has become central to deep tech and has been integral to the tech industry for the past two decades. When programmers develop software in any programming language, their objective is to create functional application modules. Traditionally, this process involves a lengthy and complex set of

commands and instructions, known as syntax. However, over the past few decades, the tech industry has introduced low-code and no-code (LCNC) solutions, which have significantly reduced the amount of coding required. These solutions enhance code efficiency and execution speed. Low-code platforms, in particular, offer pre-loaded forms and simplified syntax that can be easily integrated to build program logic, reducing coding time by approximately percent.

The adoption of low-code technologies is rapidly increasing across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with 33 percent of enterprises identifying it as a crucial tool for driving automation and future-proofing their operations. According to IDC, by next year, over 60 percent of enterprises worldwide will have adopted low-code technologies to facilitate faster application delivery and enhance operational efficiency. LCNC development technologies and platforms are also gaining popularity in other countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Turkey, and more. These facts show that the world is now looking for alternatives to custom app development techniques, and the timing couldn’t be any better for CIO Insider to come up with a special issue based on the LCNC ecosystem.
