While the exponential growth of the internet, cloud and IT industry became a silver lining to the pandemic, the cyber attackers unleashed themselves on this opportunity, and the consequences were catastrophic. Reports suggest that with 304.7 million attempts, the first half of

2021 had more ransomware than all of 2020. But the second half even topped it, reaching 318.6 million. According to the data by McAfee, around 762,187 threats were detected in India alone between May 2 and April 18 in 2021.

The global situation is no different. The FBI recently reported a whopping 400 percent increase in cyber-attacks from what they saw pre-coronavirus.
