Google DeepMind and independent film studio A24 have announced a new partnership aimed at exploring how artificial intelligence can support filmmakers and creative professionals.

The collaboration seeks to develop innovative creative workflows and filmmaking techniques while ensuring that future AI tools are shaped by the artists and creators who use them.

Under the agreement, A24 and Google DeepMind will work together on multiple research and development projects over time, combining DeepMind’s advanced AI expertise with A24’s reputation for groundbreaking filmmaking.

A24 has built a strong portfolio of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films, including the Oscar-winning adventure film Everything Everywhere All at Once, the Timothée Chalamet-starrer Marty Supreme, and the horror film Backrooms.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Alphabet’s Google has also invested $75 million in A24, citing sources familiar with the matter. However, DeepMind declined to comment on the reported value of the investment.
