Akasa Air Appoints Naarayan T V as its Chief Marketing Officer

Akasa Air has appointed Naarayan T V as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with effect from August 29. He will also serve as a member of Akasa’s Executive Committee.

The newly appointed executive will oversee the airline’s marketing, corporate communications & ESG, customer experience, eCommerce, customer analytics, and partnerships functions.

Naarayan has over two decades of cross-industry experience spanning eCommerce, fintech, banking, D2C broking, and global consumer brands.

Naarayan TV said, "Akasa Air has already carved a distinct position in Indian aviation with its values-led approach and commitment to service. I am excited to join this journey and look forward to working with the team to create meaningful and memorable experiences for our customers”.

During his tenure at IDFC Bank, Naarayan played a pivotal role in building the brand through strategic initiatives across sponsorships, product launches and large impact properties across genres. He previously spearheaded PayPal’s inaugural integrated brand launch campaign in India and designed the merchant acquisition model that scaled tenfold in its first year.

He has won several awards for innovation and excellence, including the DMA Asia Trail Blazer Award in 2023.

Akasa Air currently connects with 24 domestic and six international cities. The young airline has placed an order of 226 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes, powered by CFM fuel-efficient LEAP-1B engines. It currently operates 30 737 MAX aircraft, which deliver superior efficiency in reducing fuel use and carbon emissions.
