Amazon Plans to Launch Computer Science Education Program in India
As per several reports, Amazon is planning to launch its childhood-to-career program ‘Future Engineer’ in India. Having first launched in the US in January last year, Amazon Future Engineer is a comprehensive childhood-to-career program aimed at increasing access to computer science education for children and young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities. The initiative funds computer science classes to assist students in learning coding.
The job posting that was first reported by TechCrunch indicates that the global giant is currently looking for a manager to lead the Amazon Future Engineer program in India. This could be read in alignment with CEO Jeff Bezos visit to the country nearly a year ago and announcement that the company will invest $1 billion in the country to digitise small and medium business in the country.
According to Amazon’s job post, the Corporate Social Responsibility team in Amazon India is seeking a passionate, impact-focused individual to support on launching Amazon Future Engineer in India. The company is looking to fill a full-Time contract position for a minimum period of 12 months.
