Anup Purohit is Wipro's New CIO

Anup Purohit has been named Chief Information Officer of Wipro Limited, a renowned worldwide information technology, consulting, and business process services company.

Anup will report to Sanjeev Singh, Chief Operations Officer, in his new role as Chief Information Officer.

Anup has over 25 years of experience in banking and financial services, with a focus on digital banking, financial management, business solutions and service delivery, portfolio and program management, risk and controls, and information security.

Anup was most recently the CIO of Yes Bank, where he oversaw managing the bank's Business Technologies Transformation and Digital Innovation strategy, with a persistent focus on integrating future technology into the bank's present technology stack.

Prior to that, Anup held leadership positions at financial institutions such as RBL, Barclays, and JPMC, where he oversaw developing agile, robust, scalable, and resilient technology platforms and processes, as well as IT Infrastructure Solutions and Service Delivery.

Prior to Anup's hiring, Pierre Bruno was named as the company's chief executive officer for Europe. The latter is believed to do business in six different European locations. Wipro said in a statement that "this appointment, a bold indicator of the company's sustained commitment and commitment on the European market, builds on Wipro's progress across the region in previous years”.

Pierre Bruno graduated from HEC Graduate School in Paris with a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with specializations in Marketing and Econometrics. In addition, he holds a Master's degree in Bio Engineering.

Thierry Delaporte, Wipro's CEO and MD, commented on the occasion, saying, "Pierre has over 25 years of experience in the field of IT Infrastructure consulting and services. He has led firms in both hyper-growth and engineering change situations. Pierre is well-positioned to manage Wipro's growth trajectory in Europe, thanks to his experience leading large teams”.
