Ashwini Vaishnaw to Launch Various Rail Services in Jodhpur
Union Minister for Railways, Information Technology and Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, will begin a two-day visit to Rajasthan , during which he will participate in multiple public programs and dedicate several new railway facilities to the state.
The minister is scheduled to arrive in Jodhpur at 11 a.m. and inaugurate a range of rail services aimed at strengthening connectivity and passenger convenience across Rajasthan.
At the main event at Jodhpur Railway Station, Vaishnaw will flag off the 20-coach Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express. The semi-high-speed train had earlier been operating with only eight coaches, and the expansion is expected to significantly improve passenger capacity on the route.
The Railway Minister will also inaugurate the extension of the Sabarmati-Jodhpur Superfast Express up to Jaisalmer, improving connectivity to the border district and boosting tourism and regional travel.
In addition, he will inaugurate the newly constructed coach care complex in Jaisalmer through video conferencing.
From Jodhpur, Vaishnaw will travel to Jalore, where he will launch the Bhuj-New Delhi train service.
The programs are also expected to highlight efforts to generate employment opportunities and strengthen industrial growth in Rajasthan

On Saturday, the minister will attend a Rozgar Mela in Jaipur, where appointment letters will be distributed to newly recruited personnel in various Central Government departments. He will also interact with representatives from the electronics and semiconductor industry during his visit.

Officials said the visit reflects the Centre’s focus on modernizing railway infrastructure, expanding train services, improving station facilities and encouraging investment in emerging technology sectors.
