Assam CM Distributes the Second Tranche of Financial Assistance
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed out the second installment of monetary aid as part of the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 1.0.
The Chief Minister distributed over Rs. 131 crore to 12,976 successful business owners as part of the second phase of the program.
While speaking to the assembly, the Chief Minister labeled the event as a crucial point for the Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 1.0 program.
He remarked that there is frequently a belief that government-provided financial aid is not always used efficiently. Nonetheless, he noted that numerous beneficiaries who obtained the initial allocation through the program have utilized the funds effectively and advanced in their specific areas. Many of them have also qualified for loans from banks and initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.
The Chief Minister mentioned that almost seven lakh youths reach the 18-plus age group in Assam annually, equating to about 35 lakh young individuals entering the labor market over a span of five years. He stated that society needs to work together to tackle the issue of creating job opportunities for the increasing population.
He mentioned that if governments do not generate job opportunities outside of public employment, rising unemployment may result in frustration for young people.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that Assam's economic size has increased from around Rs. 3.5 lakh crore to INR. 8.5 lakh crore in the last five years generating new job opportunities in agriculture, services, and industry

He stated that the state government has been focused on creating a skilled young workforce through institutions like skill university and various training programs to motivate industries to hire young individuals from Assam in the future.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that Assam's economic size has increased from around Rs. 3.5 lakh crore to INR. 8.5 lakh crore in the last five years generating new job opportunities in agriculture, services, and industry. He also emphasized significant future projects such as the semiconductor plant in Jagiroad, a thermal power project in Dhubri, and a fertilizer factory in Namrup as efforts that will create more job opportunities in the state.
