BEL Signs MoU with Tata Electronics

Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Electronics to collaboratively create indigenous electronics and semiconductor solutions, in line with the government's initiative for self-reliance in essential technologies.

The memorandum of understanding was finalized on June 5, 2025, at Bombay House, the Tata Group's headquarters located in Mumbai, the company announced in an exchange filing. The contract was executed by Manoj Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of BEL, and Dr Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics.

Through the partnership, BEL and Tata Electronics will investigate comprehensive collaboration in fields including semiconductor fabrication (Fab), Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT), and design services.

The aim is to satisfy BEL’s current and upcoming requirements for advanced components like Microcontrollers (MCUs), Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs), and various other processors.

The two firms also seek to create ideal manufacturing solutions for BEL's product line by utilizing knowledge exchange, best practices, and technical assets.

“This partnership is a strategic step toward strengthening India’s capabilities in the semiconductor ecosystem,” BEL says.
