Drone manufacturing startup BonV Aero announced on Wednesday that it has begun preparatory activities for its Rs 300 crore unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) facility in Khordha, Odisha, which will feature an advanced assembly line, a center of excellence, and a drone park.

The Khordha initiative enhances the company's current obligations in the region, featuring a proposed UAV corridor at Rangeilunda, according to BonV Aero.

The company stated that with the new facility, it intends to position Odisha as one of India's leading hubs for advanced UAV production and aerospace innovation, noting that this also indicates a steady yet evident change in India's drone manufacturing landscape away from its conventional bases.

The new site, covering 2.5 acres, is intended as a comprehensive UAV hub, containing state-of-the-art drone assembly lines, a drone centre of excellence (CoE), and an industrial training centre, in addition to showcasing 'Odisha's first Drone Park,' a specialized area for innovation and testing.
