Britannia Industries Appoints Rakshit Hargave as the CEO
Biscuit giant Britannia Industries has named Rakshit Hargave as the chief executive officer and executive director of the firm for five years, the food company announced in a stock exchange filing.
His appointment will take effect from his joining date of December 15 and is contingent upon the approval of the company’s members.
Before this, Hargave held the position of CEO at Birla Opus, the paint division of the Aditya Birla Group.
Hargave became part of the Company in November 2021 and has been instrumental during the start-up phase of the decorative paints at Birla Opus and in the early expansion of the business.
According to a stock exchange filing by Grasim Industries, he has contributed to creating a successful team and during this four-year period, set up six integrated manufacturing plants, expanded distribution and supply chain networks across the country.
The stock exchange documentation additionally stated, These will establish a solid base as the company expands its paint brand and operations in the future.
The board valued his involvement in the ‘Project to Launch’ Phase of Birla Opus and wished him well in his future endeavors. The announcement regarding Rakshit’s successor will be made in a timely manner.
Meanwhile, the company's managing director, Himanshu Kapania, will take direct control of the paints division, the filing stated.

According to the filing, he is a seasoned professional in the consumer sector with experience in India and abroad.
Hargave has collaborated with consumer brands such as Beiersdorf, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), and Jubilant Foodworks.

Hargave began his professional journey at Tata Motors before transitioning to Nestle India. He possesses an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, and also earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi. He was honored with the Distinguished Young Alumni Award by IIT Varanasi.
