CAIT, Nasscom Partner to Boost Digital Skills for Traders and MSMEs
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) have partnered to strengthen digital skills among traders and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across India.
Under a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two organisations will provide training in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and digital marketing through an initiative titled ‘Tech Connect for Traders and MSMEs – Accelerating Digital Transformation’. The agreement was signed on Tuesday in the presence of Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada.
The initiative aims to help small businesses adopt emerging technologies, improve their digital capabilities and remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven business environment. The training programme is expected to equip traders and MSMEs with practical skills to expand their operations, reach new customers and explore market opportunities.
Addressing the event, Prasada highlighted the growing importance of technology integration in business, noting that digital transformation has become essential for companies seeking to remain relevant and competitive.
He expressed confidence that the collaboration would enable small businesses to make better use of digital tools, strengthen their operations and enhance their competitiveness in international markets.
CAIT Secretary General and Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal also stressed the need for traders to embrace digital platforms as consumer preferences continue to evolve.
