
CM Siddaramaiah announces Irrigation boost for Kalyana Karnataka

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wished citizens well on Kalyana Karnataka Liberation Day and reiterated his administration's dedication to the area's comprehensive development by detailing major initiatives, budget provisions, and future projects.
He stated that the event served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought for the freedom of Hyderabad-Karnataka from the Nizam's governance.
While the remainder of India was commemorating independence on 15 August 1947, this area remained unliberated. He stated that the brutalities of the Razakars had exceeded intolerable bounds, reminiscing that the area joined the Indian Union due to the efforts of local champions and the resolve of the initial Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
The CM honored various freedom fighters, such as Sharanagouda Inamdar, Raja Venkatappa Nayak, Dattatreya Avaradi, Shivamurthy Swamy Alavandi, Matamari Nagappa, and numerous others, declaring their sacrifices memorable.

In his remarks on development, Siddaramaiah mentioned that following the implementation of Article 371-J in 2013, 1,19,923 positions have been marked for direct recruitment, with 84,620 already occupied.
With the matter of internal reservation settled, we plan to gradually fill the outstanding vacancies.
For 202526, the state administration has set aside Rs 5,000 crores for the KKRDB. To date, more than Rs 14,000 crores have been spent on 41,103 projects, with 32,985 of them finished, he stated.

Regarding irrigation, Siddaramaiah stated that his administration has sanctioned land acquisition for Phase III of the Krishna Upper Canal Project with farmer approval and will increase the Almatti Dam's height
Through the Shakti scheme, 77.6 crore women have benefited from free bus travel costing Rs 2,100 crores.
Gruha Lakshmi has supported 24.78 lakh women household heads with Rs 9,650 crores distributed, while Anna Bhagya has invested over Rs 3,200 crores in the area, and Yuva Nidhi has offered Rs 172 crores to 5.75 lakh unemployed graduates and diploma holders.
