Digital Connexion, a collaboration among Brookfield, Reliance Industries, and Digital Realty, will invest $11 billion by 2030 to construct 1 gigawatt (Gw) advanced AI-native, purpose-specific data centers in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
This follows shortly after Google outlined its intentions to establish a top-tier AI-driven data center in Visakhapatnam with a $15 billion investment, marking Google's biggest investment outside the U.S.
The data center will cover an area of 400 acres. On November 14, Reliance announced plans to construct a fully modular, future-ready 1 Gw AI data center intended for the world's most advanced GPUs (graphics processing units), TPUs (tensor processing units), and AI processors.
The agreement was formalized on the inaugural day of the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Minister for IT and Industries Nara Lokesh, and Reliance Industries Executive Director P M S Prasad.
The company states that its data centres are specifically designed to facilitate smooth AI operations, equipping hyperscalers and businesses with advanced systems, strong substations, reliable power sources, and optimal rack densities to drive innovation over the next ten years. The firm is creating India's future digital framework with AI-driven, specially designed data centers focused on exceptional performance, scalability, and sustainability.
