Goa's trained 'Drone Didis' performed a drone demonstration for women, highlighting how community training programs can provide them with advanced technological abilities.
Women entrepreneurs and innovators were highlighted during a 'Seva Pakhwada' event on Saturday in Porvorim, Goa, featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Drone Didi' initiative as part of a national campaign aimed at promoting service, inclusivity, and empowerment.
The event included a presentation on cyber security, designed to raise awareness about digital safety for women entrepreneurs and community organizations.
As part of the 'Seva Pakhwada' initiative, around 30 women were honored for their efforts. They featured "Drone Didis," women skilled in drone operation for agriculture and service uses, alongside "Lakhpati Didis," women-led startups and self-help groups managing Common Service Centers.
The lifeguards were recognized for their contributions to maintaining tourist safety at Goa's beaches.
Goa's Tourism and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, who led the event, mentioned that the two-week-long Seva Pakhwada is being celebrated throughout India with activities including health camps, cleanliness campaigns, and livelihood and awareness programs.
