IIM Bangalore Launches PEVC Research Centre

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) reveals the establishment of the Tony James Centre for Private Equity and Venture Capital, an innovative Centre of Excellence dedicated to alternative investments.
This signifies India's initial specialized platform aimed at promoting research, education, and collaboration within the private equity and venture capital (PEVC) sector.
The centre receives substantial backing from a significant endowment provided by Mathew Cyriac, Chairman of Florintree Advisors and a 1994 graduate of IIMB's Post Graduate Program. It is designated in tribute to Tony James, who was the former president and chief operating officer of Blackstone, and is a revered personality in the international investment arena.
Cyriac, a co-founder of Yali Capital, stays, "With the evolution of the Indian investing market, I think it will require innovation and sophistication that match the intricacies of the Indian market."
