Prime Minister Narendra Modi has labeled this decade as India's "techade," in which the nation aspires to take the lead in influencing the global technology arena.

"India is at the forefront of AI adoption globally," he stated, highlighting the achievements of Digital India and the fintech industry as crucial facilitators. "PM adds that India's growing semiconductor industry will further strengthen our AI ecosystem."

Modi addressed the inauguration of Kaynes' ₹3,300-crore semiconductor facility located in Sanand, Ahmedabad. The facility is included in the central government's larger initiative under the 'India Semiconductor Mission' to develop local expertise in the industry.

The plant has begun commercial production of Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs), which are extensively utilized in electric vehicles, industrial systems, and energy-efficient devices. Every module consolidates several chips into one package to enhance performance and efficiency.

Modi stated that the administration's strategies are establishing the foundation for future technology and energy safety. This involves allowing private companies into the space sector and establishing organizations such as IN-SPACe.

He stated that actions related to nuclear energy policy are also in progress, as this is essential for a future driven by AI. He noted that India is also progressing in quantum computing, which it considers a strategic asset.
