Indian Bank Association Nominates New Chairman: Rajnish Kumar

Rajnish Kumar, the head of State Bank of India has been nominated as the chairman of Indian Bank Association for 2019- 2020.G Rajkiran Rai of UBI bank, Punjab National Bank’s S S Mallikarjuna Rao and Madhav Kalyan JP Morgan Chase Bank have been selected as deputy chairmen.

Rajnish Kumar is an Indian Banker and chairman of State Bank of India. He served in SBI as a probationary officer during 1980. He served as a Managing Director in National Banking Group in 2015 and Managing Director in SBI, who was taking care of the compliances and risks of the bank.

He also headed the Capital Market Limited of SBI as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director before becoming the Managing Director in SBI.

State Bank of India provides financial service to public sector and is an Indian Multinational bank. Headquarter of SBI is in Mumbai, Maharashtra and is a government corporate statutory body. It is considered as the largest bank in India and having a market share in assets of 23%. SBI was given 216th position among the Fortune Global 500 ranking all over the world. As per the brand test reports, SBI is the 50th most trustable bank in India.

G Rajkiran is the CEO and Managing Director of Union Bank of India who was now appointed as one of the Deputy Chairmen. He is an agricultural science graduate and he is certified participant of Indian Institute of Bankers. Rajkiran is having thirty years of banking experience and he is also efficient in initiating Industrial Finance Branch, Regions and Zonal offices. He began his career in Central Bank of India as the Agricultural Finance Officer he also has an experience of seventeen years in handling various branches in different parts of the country.

Mallikarjuna Rao is the Managing Director and CEO of Punjab National Bank. He, as a banker has an experience of thirty three years. He began his career as a probationary officer in Bank of Maharashtra and worked in Global Trust Bank. He was also an executive director in Syndicate Bank.

Madhav Kalyan is the MD and CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank and he is head of corporate bank in India. He is appointed as one of the deputy chairman of Indian Bank Association.
