IndiGo Approves Rs 7,294 Crore Investment
IndiGo has sanctioned a capital investment of Rs 7,294 crore in its fully owned subsidiary, InterGlobe Aviation Financial Services IFSC Pvt. Ltd. (IndiGo IFSC), the low-cost airline notified the exchanges.
The firm stated that the investment will occur via a combination of equity shares and 0.01 percent non-cumulative optionally convertible redeemable preference shares (OCRPS), in one or several tranches. The capital generated by IndiGo IFSC will mainly be allocated for acquiring aviation assets, allowing the low-cost airline to have direct ownership of aircraft.
Founded in October 2023, IndiGo IFSC offers leasing services for aircraft and engines, as well as associated financial services. The firm announced revenue of Rs 289.9 crore in FY25, a net income of Rs 11.1 crore, and a net asset value of Rs 413 crore as of March 31, 2025.
IndiGo stated that the recent investment supports its current strategy to create a more balanced ownership framework and broaden funding sources. It mentioned that the action strengthens its commitment to careful capital allocation and enduring value generation for stakeholders.

Enhancing its in-flight dining experience, IndiGo also declared that free hot meals and drinks will be provided to all passengers on this route

IndiGo, the favored airline in India, has recently revealed its inaugural long-haul route linking Mumbai (India) with Manchester (United Kingdom), becoming the sole airline to provide nonstop service between the two cities, commencing on 01 July 2025.

Enhancing its in-flight dining experience, IndiGo also declared that free hot meals and drinks will be provided to all passengers on this route.
The airline plans to utilize its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes for three weekly flights on this route. This will render IndiGo the sole airline.
