Indian IT major Infosys (INFY: NSE) sets off en route Cloud business by launching Infosys Cobalt – a set of services, solutions, and platforms that acts as a force multiplier for cloud-powered enterprise transformation. The new platform will offer over 14,000 cloud assets and over 200 industry cloud solution blueprints.

According to marketsandmarkets.com, the global cloud computing market size is expected to grow from $371.4 billion in 2020 to $832.1 billion by 2025, escalating at a CAGR of 17.5 percent. The post-pandemic situation is expected to only further boost cloud adoption. No wonder Infosys makes a predominant move to join the global cloud business race.

In a statement, Salil Parekh, CEO, Infosys said, “Our clients are building cloud capabilities to gain business advantage in increasingly competitive markets. The future of enterprise cloud strategy will be shaped by three key factors – speed-to-market, innovation at scale, and security of the ecosystem – this is the foundational construct of Infosys Cobalt. With Infosys Cobalt, we will set up a proven and optimal foundation for cloud-led transformation that will accelerate the next phase of growth and market leadership for businesses.”

Commenting on the occasion Ravi Kumar, President, Infosys, quoted, “Our clients operate in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. They want to modernize and innovate at scale. They are looking to leverage this heterogeneous landscape, make the most of SaaS and PaaS capabilities, and power on-demand business solutions. They need a strong pool of talent with specialist skillsets to solve these challenges. Infosys Cobalt, together with its rich ecosystem of partners and vibrant cloud community, is securely amplifying enterprise cloud ecosystems, enabling businesses to find faster, more innovative ways to respond to changing markets and drive business resilience.”

According to the company, Infosys Cobalt will help businesses redesign the enterprise, from the core, and also build new cloud-first capabilities to create seamless experiences in public, private and hybrid cloud, across PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS landscapes.

On the other hand, it’s been rumoured that the company is all set to offer promotions to eligible junior and mid-level staff, which were stalled due to the covid-19 pandemic. More than half of its 2.4 Lakh employees could be eligible for the promotions. This will be predominant stride by the company in terms of retaining talent.
