Infosys Names Nitin Paranjpe as Vice Chairman

Infosys has revealed that the Board of Directors has sanctioned the appointment of Nitin Paranjpe as the non-executive Vice Chairman of the Board, effective immediately, according to the company's regulatory filing
The appointment acknowledges Nitin’s contribution to the Board.

He has significant experience, having served as non-executive Chairman of Hindustan Unilever Ltd and non-executive Vice Chairman of Heineken NV.

Previously, he served as the Chief People & Transformation Officer and the Chief Operating Officer at Unilever. In his role as Vice Chairman, he will assist the Chairman in directing the Board and strategic objectives.

Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Board at Infosys, stated, “We are thrilled to have Nitin in this role. His knowledge has already had a notable influence on the Board, and we anticipate his ongoing guidance in this enhanced position. I will remain the Chairman of the Board for as long as needed, and there are no current plans for a change in chairmanship.”

In another development, the filing noted that the Board has granted a request from Shreyas Shibulal—child of ex-Infosys co-founder S. D. Shibulal—and his partner, Bhairavi Madhusudhan Shibulal, to change their classification from the “Promoter and Promoter Group” category to the “Public” category.
