KPMG International has launched its multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) platform, KPMG Workbench, as part of its extensive investment in AI and agentic transformation. This platform will support the client delivery systems of KPMG firms, including Digital Gateway (Tax), KPMG Velocity (Advisory), and the advanced audit system, KPMG Clara.

KPMG Workbench is a collection of 50 operational AI agents and chatbots, with nearly 1,000 additional agents in development. These agents are engineered to collaborate with various large language models (LLMs) and act as digital partners to KPMG professionals, streamlining client service delivery.

The platform is built on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry Services, facilitating seamless interactions among agents and incorporating tools from KPMG’s alliance partners, including Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday. This allows clients to select the AI model or agent that best fits their requirements.

Workbench is foundational to KPMG’s next-generation AI-driven service delivery, which includes Services as Software (SaS) solutions that merge AI capabilities with KPMG’s industry knowledge.

The platform features integrated data sovereignty, providing clients with complete control over their data while ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.

Private instances of KPMG Workbench will be accessible to clients from different sectors, aiding in the development and management of their future digital workforce.

Launching KPMG Workbench is a pivotal milestone in our AI commitment to transforming client delivery and enhancing ways of working across the global organization

“Clients tell us that their ability to orchestrate and control their agents in a secure way is becoming their number one concern. They also want a multi-model platform rather than being locked into one provider. Recognizing this, and KPMG’s own needs as a complex global business, the strategy was to build a foundational AI platform that has sovereign data capabilities and enables our people to integrate AI models into one environment that is embedded in our Trusted AI Framework. With KPMG Workbench, we’re combining advanced AI agents with the insight, judgment and deep expertise of our people to deliver smarter solutions for clients, faster and with full confidence in their security and compliance,” says David Rowlands, Global Head of AI, KPMG International.
