KreditBee Secures $ 280 Million, Joins Unicorn Club
The digital lending service KreditBee has attained unicorn status in India after raising $280 million in a Series E funding round, valuing the company at $1.5 billion.
The Bengaluru-based startup stated on Wednesday, April 8, that it will utilize the new funding to improve its Artificial Intelligence capabilities and expand its lending services by reinforcing its presence in key markets.
The funding round was led by Motilal Oswal Alternates, Hornbill Capital, and Dragon Funds backed by MUFG, along with investments from WhiteOak Capital and AP Moller Holding. Existing investors such as Premji Invest and Advent International participated in this round as well.
Founded in 2016, KreditBee offers loans through its RBI-registered NBFC, KrazyBee Services Limited, in partnership with more than 10 financial institutions.
The firm announced that AI features will be employed to improve risk evaluation precision, increase credit access, and enable more customized financial solutions for various customer groups.
