LG Electronics to Relocate Production to India
Korean multinational LG Electronics plans to relocate production to India for certain newer ventures involving capital goods utilized in establishing factories that manufacture electronic products, displays, and advanced components, according to reports.
Independently, the parent organization LG Corp is allocating Rs.1,000 Crore to establish a new international research and development center in Noida, which is expected to generate approximately 500 jobs.
LG Electronics, which recently experienced a strong debut of its Indian subsidiary, is searching for possibilities for local production either on its own or via collaborations with local firms, the executives mentioned, adding that the strategies are still in the investigative phase.

LG's action is driven by its confidence in the growth opportunities within India's electronics manufacturing sector. The executives stated that the company aims to provide machinery for establishing automated facilities, along with components and displays.
In this regard, LG has provided machinery for the first time for the automated production of Apple's new iPhone 17 in India to factories operated by Foxconn, Tata Electronics, and Pegatron. This was carried out by the group company LG Production Engineering Research Institute (LG PRI), which develops solutions for sectors like displays, semiconductors, camera modules, automation technologies, and robotics.

As LG Electronics India is also growing, with a new facility being established in Andhra Pradesh, other subsidiary companies such as LG Display and LG Innotek might begin partnering as well
Although LG PRI facilities are situated in South Korea, LG Display and LG Innotek have facilities in South Korea, China, and Vietnam.
