Maharashtra Seeks Amazon Backing for Data Centres and Healthcare
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and urged the American tech leader to invest in data centers, healthcare facilities, and artificial intelligence-driven skill enhancement in the state.
Maharashtra serves as the data center hub of the nation. We are building a robust ecosystem for the growth and advancement of data centres. In addition to this, there are notable prospects in healthcare, technological infrastructure, and AI-driven skill enhancement. A government statement quoted the chief minister saying, "The state should receive investment from Amazon."
The government intends to increase the economy's size from the current estimated $ 660 billion to $ 1 trillion by 2030, having already surpassed more than half of that goal, according to Fadnavis.
The state government is progressively using artificial intelligence to enhance service delivery to citizens and developing AI-integrated systems in agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, and education, he informed Jassy.
Acknowledging that AI is changing job dynamics, the chief minister stated that skill development initiatives aligned with emerging technologies are crucial, and Maharashtra is keen to collaborate with Amazon in this domain as well.
