Maharashtra to Boost Electricity System through 'Digital Twin'
Maharashtra plans to enhance its electricity distribution system using a 'Digital Twin' framework for solar and various renewable energy sources as MahaVitaran prepares to execute an AI-driven digitization project alongside prominent global entities.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that this signifies the start of environmentally friendly and sustainable growth in the state's energy sector via AI technology.
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MahaVitaran), The Rockefeller Foundation (RF), Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), and the Energy Department are collaborating on this groundbreaking initiative, according to reports.
The concept arose in a conversation that took place in January between Chief Minister Fadnavis and Dr. Rajiv Shah, the president of The Rockefeller Foundation, as per reports.
The pioneering idea of implementing a Digital Twin in the electricity distribution network was introduced, and as the Chief Minister supervises the Energy Department, he made this transformative decision for Maharashtra’s energy future, according to reports.
With the collaboration of RF and GEAPP, this cutting-edge AI-driven global platform will establish a standard for power utilities throughout India." Tools for decision support powered by AI will greatly improve customer service and assist in fortifying MahaVitaran's financial base.
