Mythic AI, a semiconductor company developing analog compute-in-memory technology for highly energy-efficient AI inference, has announced its entry into India with the launch of its new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.

The new India centre will serve as a key product development and innovation hub, with plans to build a premier AI chip development team spanning VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) design, physical design, design-for-test, systems and applications engineering.

The launch comes at a time when India’s semiconductor ecosystem is gaining momentum, with Bengaluru emerging as a major hub for semiconductor design alongside growing clusters for manufacturing, advanced packaging, talent and R&D across the country.

The automotive sector is also seeing greater demand for energy-efficient chip architectures as ADAS adoption expands, supported by the ₹76,000 crore Semicon India Program. Globally, the shift towards more efficient AI computing is accelerating, with in-memory computing and analog AI technologies expected to see significant growth over the coming decade. This convergence of semiconductor talent, automotive demand and next-generation AI architectures makes Bengaluru a strategic location for Mythic AI’s India expansion.

Mythic AI’s leadership brings deep NVIDIA roots to its India expansion. Dr. Taner Ozcelik, Chairman & CEO, Mythic AI, is the former Vice President and General Manager of NVIDIA’s Automotive Division, where he worked closely with NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to build and scale the automotive business and pioneer the commercialization of autonomous technologies. As part of its India expansion, Mythic AI’s India team will be led by Manoj Kumar, Vice President, Mythic India, from Bengaluru. The team is expected to quadruple in size by Q1 2027, further strengthening the company’s engineering capabilities and enabling greater ownership of critical product development initiatives from Bengaluru.

Mythic's core AI semiconductor development would demand exceptional execution in each of these disciplines and I am excited to create and nurture a team that will help realize our immediate and long term roadmap of energy efficient AI solutions

Dr. Taner Ozcelik, Chairman & CEO, Mythic AI said, “India has an exceptional depth of semiconductor engineering talent and a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem, making Bengaluru an important location for Mythic AI’s next phase of growth. Our objective is to build a premier AI chip development team that can take meaningful ownership across multiple areas of product development and contribute to some of the most complex challenges in AI computing. As AI workloads continue to expand, the industry will need architectures that deliver performance while addressing energy constraints. We see an opportunity to bring together strong engineering capabilities in India with our global technology and product development efforts, while creating a team that can take ownership of complex, high-impact work.”
