New President Of India, South Asia Prabhjeet Singh, Appointed By Uber

Cab riding company Uber this Thursday declared the appointment of Prabhjeet Singh as President Uber India and South Asia. He has the gigantic task of next-gen growth in Uber’s mobility business across India, Srilanka and Bangladesh.

The announcement was made in the previous month by Uber when it closed the Mumbai office due to the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus.

Singh said that he is thrilled to get the responsibility

to lead Uber in India and South Asia. He also expressed that he is looking forward to form an exceptional team with gifted colleagues in the Uber family for strengthening the services and products of Uber.

On August 2015 Singh joined Uber from McKinsey and Co. He was an Associate Partner there.

From that time he is a part of the core team that adapted over global business model to India. He has helped in launching in multiple new cities and led several innovations like scaling up Auto and Moto categories and building and multi-modal platform.

Pradeep Parameswaran, Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific, Uber, said, “I’m confident that Prabhjeet will exceed our expectations by leading Uber India SA on to the path of profitability and further consolidate our partnership with public transport authorities, continue our growth trajectory by expanding Auto and Moto to the next batch of cities, and build iconic teams.”

As per media reports, the Mumbai office appointed almost 25 employees and 150 staffs on contractual basis.

On May, Uber India announced to release 600 full-time employees as an impact of coronavirus.
