OpenAI to Acquire Product Testing Startup Statsig

OpenAI is planning to purchase Statsig in an all-stock agreement that values the product testing startup at approximately $1.1 billion based on OpenAI’s present valuation of $300 billion.
The creator of ChatGPT will also designate Statsig's CEO, Vijaye Raji, as OpenAI's chief technology officer for applications to enhance its artificial intelligence offerings in the face of intense competition from competitors.
The action follows OpenAI's acquisition of Jony Ive's startup, io Products, a few months prior in a $6.5 billion agreement to assist in creating AI hardware.
Supported by its leading product ChatGPT, OpenAI increased its revenue twofold in the first seven months of the year, achieving an annualized run rate of $12 billion, and is projected to hit $20 billion by the year's end.
The firm is also aiming to finalize a tender offer round to provide employee liquidity at a $500 billion valuation.
