PM Modi Inaugurates Samrat Samprati Museum
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the newly constructed 'Samrat Samprati Museum' in Koba village, Gandhinagar, honoring Jain heritage and principles of non-violence.
The PM, accompanied by Jain seers, opened the museum to commemorate Mahavir Jayanti.
The museum, situated at the Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra, honors Samrat Samprati Maharaj (224-215 BC), the grandson of Samrat Ashoka and a Mauryan leader recognized for spreading Jainism and the concept of 'ahimsa' (non-violence).
It contains unique artefacts, old manuscripts, and sculptures distributed in seven galleries, providing insight into the vibrant historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of Jainism, according to reports.
The museum displays ancient Jain art spanning centuries, featuring stone and metal sculptures, illustrated texts, coins, and traditional artifacts, while also employing contemporary audio-visual technology to provide an engaging experience for guests.
Home to more than 2,000 unique artifacts displayed in large galleries, the museum allows guests to grasp the historical development of Jainism and its significant cultural influence, according to reports.

PM Modi, in a post on X, wished everyone well on Mahavir Jayanti on Tuesday, stating that the life and teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir still light the way of truth, non-violence, and compassion
The museum houses and showcases rare relics from centuries past, Jain artifacts, and collections of traditional heritage, featuring intricately crafted stone and metal idols, miniature paintings, silver chariots, coins, and ancient manuscripts, all displayed in seven expansive galleries.

Earlier, PM Modi, in a post on X, wished everyone well on Mahavir Jayanti on Tuesday, stating that the life and teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir still light the way of truth, non-violence, and compassion.

He stated that Bhagwan Mahavir's principles are spiritually elevating and highly pertinent in the modern world, with his focus on equality and compassion reminding individuals of their collective duty to society.
