PM Modi to Inaugurate Noida Airport Phase I on March 28

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Uttar Pradesh on March 28 to launch Phase I of the Noida International Airport.

Reports indicate that he will conduct a walkthrough of the Terminal Building at Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar. Subsequently, at approximately 12 PM, the Prime Minister will launch Phase I of Noida International Airport and speak to a public assembly for the event.

The opening of Noida International Airport represents an important achievement in India's progress toward becoming a global aviation center.

The airport, designed to be a key international entry point for the National Capital Region (NCR), marks a significant advancement in bolstering the nation's airport infrastructure and improving both regional and international links.

Noida International Airport has been established as the second international airport for the Delhi NCR area, supporting Indira Gandhi International Airport. The two airports will operate as a cohesive aviation network, reducing congestion, increasing passenger capacity, and establishing Delhi NCR as one of the top global aviation centers.

Noida International Airport ranks as one of the biggest greenfield airport initiatives in India. The development of Phase I of Noida International Airport has been completed with a total investment of approximately Rs.11,200 crore through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The airport features a strong cargo system, comprising a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub that includes an Integrated Cargo Terminal and logistics areas

The airport's initial capacity for passenger handling will be 12 million passengers per year (MPPA), with the potential to expand to 70 MPPA after complete development.

It includes a 3,900-meter runway suitable for wide-body planes, equipped with contemporary navigation technology such as Instrument Landing System (ILS) and sophisticated airfield lighting to enable effective, all-weather, 24/7 operations.

The airport features a strong cargo system, comprising a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub that includes an Integrated Cargo Terminal and logistics areas.

The cargo terminal is built to manage more than 250,000 metric tonnes each year, with the capability to expand to approximately 1.8 million metric tonnes, and features a specialized 40-acre Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) center.
