Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Travel to Arunachal Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to travel to Arunachal Pradesh, where he will launch infrastructure initiatives valued at almost Rs 5,000 crore.

The PM is expected to land at Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi at approximately 9 am, after which he will take a helicopter to Raj Bhavan in Itanagar.

He will subsequently proceed to Indira Gandhi Park, where he will unveil the development initiatives and speak at a rally. Modi will inaugurate the foundation stones for the Heo and Tato-I hydropower initiatives, which will be constructed on the Yarjep River in the Shi Yomi area.

The Tato-I initiative, boasting a capacity of 186 mw, will be collaboratively developed by the Arunachal Pradesh government alongside the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) at a cost of Rs 1,750 crore.

It is anticipated to produce approximately 802 million units of electricity each year.

The Heo project, with a capacity of 240 mw, will be developed by NEEPCO and the state government for Rs 1,939 crore. It is anticipated to generate 1,000 million units of power annually.

Modi will officially launch a convention centre in Tawang through a virtual event, constructed under the PM-DevINE scheme at a cost of Rs 145.37 crore. A capacity to accommodate more than 1,500 individuals, it will adhere to international standards and enhance the region's tourism and cultural prospects.

These efforts are anticipated to stimulate economic activity, boost living standards, and strengthen connectivity in the area

The PM will initiate multiple additional infrastructure projects valued at over Rs 1,290 crore, addressing different sectors such as connectivity, health, and fire safety.

The event is expected to be attended by Governor KT Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, and Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia.
