Reliance and Google Cloud Strengthen Partnership to Accelerate India's AI Growth

To support India's next significant advancement in artificial intelligence (AI), Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced the extension of its strategic relationship with Google Cloud.
In order to enable businesses, startups, and public sector organizations to innovate at scale, the partnership seeks to provide state-of-the-art, safe, and sustainable AI infrastructure. Together, Reliance and Google have shaped India's digital revolution for more than ten years, providing millions of people with inexpensive internet access. With an emphasis on AI-driven transformation across Reliance's varied industries and India's rapidly expanding digital economy, this new cooperation expands on that basis.
Reliance will plan, construct, and power a cutting-edge AI cloud facility in Jamnagar as part of the project, completely adhering to Google Cloud's international standards. Supported by Jio's strong digital network and Reliance's strength in renewable energy, the facility will handle high-performance AI workloads while maintaining sustainability at hyperscale.
Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director, Reliance Industries Limited, said: “This partnership with Google Cloud marks a new chapter in India’s technology journey. By bringing Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to Jamnagar, supported by Reliance’s infrastructure, renewable energy, and nationwide network, we are laying the foundation for India to become a global leader in AI. Just as Jio and Google came together to democratize the internet for every Indian, we will now democratize intelligence for every Indian.”
This revolutionary step will enable government agencies, startups, SMBs, corporations, and developers to confidently and quickly use AI
Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google and Alphabet, added, “At Google, we’ve long been investing in India’s digital future, and our partnership with Reliance and Jio has been an important part of how we do that.
