Renault Group India Names Stephane Deblaise as its Chief Executive Officer

Renault Group has named Stephane Deblaise as the new Chief Executive Officer of Renault Group India, effective from 1 September 2025, marking a renewed emphasis on growth, innovation, and local production in a vital global market.

Stephane, who is currently at the helm of Renault Korea, brings over twenty years of experience across strategic regions. His leadership has transformed the Renault plant in Busan into a highly efficient export center for multi-energy vehicles, including hybrids and electric vehicles, while enhancing Renault’s industrial presence in Asia.

In India, Stephane will oversee all operations of Renault Group, reporting directly to Francois Provost, Senior Vice President of Purchasing and Public Affairs. He will collaborate with Venkatram Mamillapalle, who remains the Managing Director of Renault India, as the company looks to revive its market presence in the medium term through new product launches and improved supply chain integration.

With a rich background in product planning, vehicle engineering, and market development across Latin America, China, and Korea, Stephane is anticipated to provide a new perspective on the evolving mobility requirements in India.

Having amassed over twenty years of experience at Renault, Stephane possesses extensive global knowledge in engineering, product planning, and program management. He began his career at Saft Batteries before joining Renault Group in 2000.

Throughout his tenure, he has occupied various key positions in international markets, such as Chief Vehicle Engineer for the Entry Program in Latin America, Vice President of Product Planning & Programs at Dongfeng-Renault in China, and Worldwide C&D Segment Program Director in France. In 2021, he was named Vice President for Renault Group Vehicles and Cross Car Line Program.

With a rich background in product planning, vehicle engineering, and market development across Latin America, China, and Korea, Stephane is anticipated to provide a new perspective on the evolving mobility requirements in India.

His appointment comes as Renault India prepares to launch next-gen vehicles designed for Indian roads, prioritizing affordability and innovative features. This change in leadership reinforces Renault's dedication to India as a key growth market, with intentions to utilize Deblaise’s international expertise to synchronize the brand’s Indian operations with global standards.
