Rolls-Royce Names Sashi Mukundan as Executive VP

Rolls-Royce has confirmed the selection of Sashi Mukundan as Executive Vice President, Transformation India.

Mukundan will start with the company in October and will oversee government and business relations efforts in India, aiding in the expansion of Rolls-Royce's operations there.

Tufan Erginbilgic, Rolls-Royce's CEO, says, “Sashi has demonstrated an ability to achieve considerable commercial growth that has contributed to India's remarkable economic success narrative. His selection reflects Rolls-Royce’s dedication to expanding our presence and strengthening our collaboration in India."

He further stated, “We aim to become a strategic ally to India by collaborating on creating, developing, and manufacturing power and propulsion technologies in India, for India and globally, making a substantial contribution to Viksit Bharat 2047.”

Possessing more than 43 years of global expertise in the energy industry in different regions Mukundan has headed bp’s operations in India, including the gas and low carbon energy sectors, for the past 15 years. He has managed the boards of Castrol India Ltd, Reliance BP Mobility Ltd, India Gas Solutions Pvt Ltd, and BP Exploration (Alpha) Ltd as bp's leader in India.

Castrol has one of the longest-established businesses in India offering lubricants, EV fluids, and Autocare services

Besides he played a crucial role in bp's successful venture in India with investments exceeding $12 billion and employing more than 8,000 individuals, contributing 5 percent of bp’s EBITA.

Under his leadership, bp established a significant and substantial footprint in India - contributing a third of the nation’s domestic gas output and 5 percent of its crude, offering intelligent mobility solutions such as battery exchanges and EV charging stations and advanced fuels in collaboration with Reliance.

In Pune, bp operates one of its major talent centers that focuses on creating business, technical, engineering, and digital solutions for bp’s worldwide operations. Castrol has one of the longest-established businesses in India offering lubricants, EV fluids, and Autocare services.
