Samsung Semiconductor India Research Installs Second R&D Facility in Bangalore

Bangalore receives a second R&D facility from Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) with an aim to accommodate nearly 1,600 professionals and is housed at Bagmane Capital Tech Park in the Angkor-West area.

Seated within the Bagmane Capital Tech Park in the Angkor-West area, the new facility is spread out for about 160,000 square feet and is believed to execute SSIR’s goals in semiconductor research and innovation.

To drive collaboration, the new campus has been established with a modern, open-plant layout across four floors, affixed with hot-desk areas, 60 state-of-art meeting rooms, cafeteria, medical facilities, dedicated nap rooms, and more.

SSIR plans to add more than 700 people which include fresh graduates and lateral hires across teams in the country, in addition to its existing strength of 4,600 employees.

Additionally, a Quantum Technology Lab is already set in motion in collaboration of SSIR with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The lab is expected to serve purpose on integrating cryogenic control chip with qubits and single photon sources, while addressing reliability challenges in quantum technologies.

The new facility represents the company’s strategic move towards its constant efforts in advancing semiconductor technology.

It is said to encourage technological advancement, training, and collaboration with other national and international quantum research institutions.

For further convenience, SSIR is offering transport shuttle services to ensure a holistic work experience for employees.
